What do these words have in common: parliament, congregation, coterie, colony, coalition, troop, army, & party?

Posted on November 27th, 2009 by admin

What is the shared connection shared of these words? Please help me figure this out. The answer to this question has to do with the ENGLISH LANGUAGE (grammar, mechanics, word meanings, word usage, word origin and etymology, the words in context, etc). Any and all answers are appreciated!

They are nouns that are singular, yet represent more than one person.

Can a Landlord Sell/Trash my personal property after I have been evicted?

Posted on November 27th, 2009 by admin

I was evicted/Locked out by the sheriffs department from my apt. The sheriff gave me 5 minutes to gather a bag of clothes and what else I could of my personal effects. It has been 2 months since this incident, I have no heard anything in the form of letters or calls from the land lord regarding my possessions. During this time I have mustered up enough money to if nothing else bargain for my belongings. I contacted the landlord and he stated that my stuff has been trashed. I find this very difficult to believe since the majority of the stuff was high end sound equipment. As it seems I feel the landlord has sold my stuff with out notifying me. I am in Philadelphia PA. There was a coalition named T.A.G. (Tenant Action Group) which assisted normal folk, but apparently they are now defunct, which is why I am posting here. Thanks in Advance… P D P
I suppose I should not made it seem as though I were the tenant in question here, but rather a friend who isn’t as versed with using a computer as I think I am. However it’s interesting to see how some choose to answer the question but favor ridicule instead. Person in question was in a terrible state, husband passed away quite suddenly and tragically 2 children one of them autistic. Having been but a home maker for 12 + years was making a valiant effort, holding 2 jobs and returned to school to advance herself in her new found employment. But then was Sexually assaulted then beaten and left for dead now her right arm is paralyzed. Prime example of a free loader I’d say

James is a dimwitted idiot who does not deserve his whatever back because this ding-a-ling ignored everything that was sent to the ding-a-ling

matching the words to the definitions?

Posted on November 27th, 2009 by admin

words:
b. coalition
c. collectivization
e. corporate state
g. dictatorship of the proletariat
k. jazz
p. socialist realism
r. syndicate

definitions:
1. corporation of workers and employers
5. political philosophy that advocates an aggressive form of nationalism, single-party system with a strong ruler, glorification of the state
10. what some have called the only art form to originate in the U.S.
13. system in which the government owns the land and uses the peasants to farm it
15. art form that glorified soviet heroes and achievement
16. nation lacking a democratic, multiparty system, in which each industry sends representatives to a legislature

This is really easy — just google each term (or even, gasp, use Wikipedia) and learn what they mean. Then it will be easy for you to match these up.

Or try www.dictionary.com

But don’t worry, an enabler will come along and do it for you – -but don’t count on it being right as there are lots of people up here who like to give wrong answers to those they feel abuse the site.

Where can I download public domain (free) raw video footage of Democrat/Republican speeches, debates, etc.?

Posted on November 27th, 2009 by admin

I had also read somewhere that there was a bipartisan coalition that had asked for debate footage to be made available to the public under a creative commons license…but I don’t know if it ever happened.
C-SPAN is good for searching/watching footage, but it’s in Flash format (not raw). Youtube is obviously low quality and almost never raw.

Still lookin’…

How many "astroturf" democratic healthcare supporters on Y/A will protest insurance companies today?

Posted on November 27th, 2009 by admin

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/sep/19/obamas-overhaul-backers-targeting-enemies/?feat=home_cube_position1

The plan for a series of grass-roots demonstrations Tuesday to promote President Obama’s health care agenda calls for tightly scripted events and an "escalation" of efforts against "enemies" of reform.

Organizers insist there is no comparison to rowdy summer town hall meetings and recent "tea party" protests that have challenged White House policies.

But Health Care for America Now (HCAN), which is backed by a coalition of labor unions and liberal groups including ACORN and MoveOn.org, organized the protests to target insurance companies and drafted the plan, which describes the demonstrations as part of its "insurance enemies project."

So these protests are highly scripted. Who wrote the script? The white house? This is what you call Astroturf. Its manufactured anger.

They aren’t allowed to as Dad won’t let them drive and Mickey D’s won’t let them off work

Is this what we want Health Care that is the final product of Congressional compromise? Can’t we do better?

Posted on November 27th, 2009 by admin

House Democrats reportedly cut health care bill from more than $1 trillion over 10 years to $871 billion. Democratic senators and a coalition of interest groups are pushing for a so-called "doctor fix" — a 10-year $247 billion measure to block a planned 20 percent cut in Medicare reimbursement fees to doctors mandated by a 1997 federal law.

What we want is the same coverage that a congressman has, and everyone in their income level to pay for it.

I say they all should donate their income (including books, public speeches, and future lobbing) to this plan over the next ten year; cancel their own coverage and get on this plan, so it will get a good jump start and they can iron out the bugs.

Should we obtain sustainable Obama futures for domestic collateral coalitions?

How are the members in a cabinet (cabinet ministers) selected in a coalition government?

Posted on November 27th, 2009 by admin

How are the members in a cabinet (often referred as cabinet ministers) selected in a coalition government?

This is urgent, and any information will be grateful.

Thanks! Its socials homework.

It is always the prerogative of the PM to select his colleagues in the Cabinets. On his recommendation, the President appoint the Cabinet Ministers. But, in a coalition arrangement, due to the coalition compulsion, the alliance partners come to an understanding as to who will become ministers and even the portfolios are pre-determined. It is only a matter of formality for the PM to recommend them for the Cabinet.

Gorgeous George, Sky news. Enjoy

See youtube MiddleEastPolitics for more thought provoking videos….

George Galloway tears apart Sky News in a debate about the 2006 Lebanon War.

The 2006 Lebanon War, known in Lebanon as the July War (Arabic: حرب تموز Ḥarb Tammūz) and in Israel as the Second Lebanon War (Hebrew: מלחמת לבנון השנייה Milkhemet Levanon Ha-Shnía), was a 34-day military conflict in Lebanon and northern Israel. The principal parties were Hezbollah paramilitary forces and the Israeli military. The conflict started on 12 July 2006, and continued until a United Nations-brokered ceasefire went into effect on 14 August 2006, though it formally ended on 8 September 2006 when Israel lifted its naval blockade of Lebanon.

Hezbollah (Arabic: حزب الله ḥizbu-llāh, literally “party of God”) is a Shi’a Islamic political and paramilitary organization based in Lebanon. It follows an Islamist Shi’a ideology developed by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.

Sky News is a 24-hour British domestic and international television news channel that started broadcasting on 5 February 1989 as part of the then four-channel Sky Television service, as well as a hourly news radio service in the UK. Broadcast of a 24-hour radio service is due to begin in 2007. It was modelled on the US CNN channel.

George Galloway (born 16 August 1954 in Dundee) is a Scottish politician and author noted for his left-wing views, confrontational style, and rhetorical skill. He has been a Member of Parliament (MP) since 1987 and currently represents Respect for the Bethnal Green and Bow constituency. He was previously a Labour Party MP for Glasgow Hillhead and for Glasgow Kelvin.

Galloway is perhaps best known for his vigorous campaign to overturn economic sanctions against Iraq in the 1990s and early 2000s and to avert the 2003 invasion of that country. He made visits there in 1994 and 2002. As part of a speech in his 1994 visit in which Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein was in attendance, he said “Sir, I salute your courage, your strength, your indefatigability”, although Galloway has always claimed that he was addressing the Iraqi people. In his 2002 visit, as war talk and claims of weapons of mass destruction filled the airwaves, he said “we are determined that we are going to do everything we can to stop this rush over the cliff.”

He was later accused by a U.S. Senate Committee led by Norm Coleman of personally profiting from abuses of UN Oil-for-Food programme. He combatively countered the charges by accusing Coleman and other pro-war politicians of covering up the “theft of billions of dollars of Iraq’s wealth… on your watch” that had occurred post-invasion Coalition Provisional Authority by “Halliburton and other American corporations… with the connivance of your own government.” He was expelled from the Labour Party in October 2003 when a party body decided that similarly strong statements he had made in opposition to the invasion had brought the party into disrepute.

In January 2004, Galloway made his comeback as a founding member of Respect, a new political coalition to the left of Labour, in association with the Socialist Workers Party and other left-wing groups, anti-Iraq war activists such as Salma Yaqoob, and other figures on the British left such as film director Ken Loach. He won his seat in the 2005 general election, the first time Respect had contested a Parliamentary election. On 3 November 2007, the Socialist Workers’ Party claimed that Galloway had announced he was splitting from Respect after an internal dispute. Galloway denied this, and together with Respect chair Linda Smith, Vice Chair Salma Yaqoob and sixteen other members of the National Council, issued an invitation to a Respect Renewal conference, organized on the same day and time as the scheduled Respect conference.

On 17 July 2007, Galloway was censured by the House of Commons Select Committee on Standards and Privileges, which recommended his suspension from the House for 18 days for “his unwillingness to cooperate fully with the Commissioner, and his calling into question of the Commissioner’s and our own integrity [which] have in our view damaged the reputation of the House”. In response, Galloway commented: “Once more and yet again I have been cleared of taking a single penny or in any way personally benefiting from the former Iraqi regime through the oil for food programme or any other means … What really upset them [the committee] is that I always defend myself.” On July 23, 2007, during a debate on the Committee’s recommendation, Galloway was ordered out of the House of Commons by the Speaker after making repeated attacks on the integrity of officers of the House

Tea Party Coalition 9-12 Project March on Washington – Slideshow

Posted on November 25th, 2009 by admin

I went to Washington, D.C., on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, to be one of many protesting the growth of government power, government spending and excessive taxation, government corruption and government usurpation of our rights. This needs to stop. I went to represent all liberty-loving people who believe in government limited by the United States Constitution. I went to represent those who think individuals are the answer to their own problems, and that government gets in the way of individuals’ success and causes more problems than it solves. I went to defend the constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. I believe authority rests in God, and he has given it and all natural rights to We the People to govern ourselves and our own life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. I pray to God, Our Father in Heaven, that this effort is successful and our guaranteed freedoms protected in the constitution are restored.
