Canadians, what is your opinion on the upcoming possibility of coalition government in Canada?

Posted on February 25th, 2010 by admin

In your opinion, what are the pros and cons in this issue? What did you learned from the media that comment on it and do you agree with their points?

Although I am not a fan of Stephen Harper (i thnk he’s smarmy)
he did win the last election-although a minority government- and I don’t think that the Liberals, NDP and Bloc Quebecqois would do well together.
I think that its fair that Michelle Jean suspended parliament until Stephen Harper gets to present his financial plan.

What agreement cemented the coalition between labor and Democrats?

Posted on February 25th, 2010 by admin

?

There isn’t an agreement. It’s a trend. Democrats tend to vote in ways and support issues that are MORE favorable to labor. I am a member of a union and a few years back my union supported a Republican for Governor of my state because the union liked who he picked for his Secretary of Labor.
Anyone who think it’s money is just flat out wrong. The amount of money labor gives to political causes is chump change compared to business, in fact that has been a sore spot for some unions. The carpenters left the AFL-CIO because they believed the amount of money we gave was not effective against the amount business gave, they thought we should concentrate on number of votes instead of money.
