What are some defining moments in Los angeles in the past 20 years that shaped inter-ethnic relations?

Posted on March 17th, 2010 by admin

Identify three defining moments in inter-ethnic relations
in the city of Los Angeles in the past 20 years, and how those events have shaped political
coalitions and interpersonal relations between blacks, whites, Latinos, and Asian Americans.
What kinds of developments have led to the breakdown of coalitions, and what kinds of
developments have led to increased coalition building across groups?

I still remember the L.A. riots that started with the Rodney King traffic stop after he got beat up by the cops. Rodney Kings plea to the masses still applies today. He said " Can`t we all just get along"!

Why are the democratic and republican parties just yapping and yapping and dont get anything done?

Posted on February 27th, 2010 by admin

this whats makes me pissed.. people love to defend their own party and dont wanna hear what the other has to say… this way of doing this is really not effective as we will always have our opinions. is there an effective way of getting government to do what it should do for the people? i like the idea of coalitions. any other ideas?

They do it because we, as voters, are too stupid to vote for Independents and 3rd party candidates.

Until we start doing that, there is no reason for either Dems or Reps to do anything that actually benefits average Americans.

Canadians, what is your opinion on the upcoming possibility of coalition government in Canada?

Posted on February 25th, 2010 by admin

In your opinion, what are the pros and cons in this issue? What did you learned from the media that comment on it and do you agree with their points?

Although I am not a fan of Stephen Harper (i thnk he’s smarmy)
he did win the last election-although a minority government- and I don’t think that the Liberals, NDP and Bloc Quebecqois would do well together.
I think that its fair that Michelle Jean suspended parliament until Stephen Harper gets to present his financial plan.

What has the Christian Coalition lost influence and power in politics?

Posted on February 23rd, 2010 by admin

For example they used to be a powerful political action committee but now you don’t even hear of them.

The pendulum swings back and forth. Right now the swing is to the far left. It will swing the other way if our country survives Obama
