I expect that the Queen will indirectly involve herself in the discussions, with zero public acknowledgment of her involvement. That involvement is most likely to tilt toward a Conservative/Liberal Democrat coalition along with the Irish Unionists.

1. Labour have been soundly rejected by HM subjects.

2. Granting a minor Ministry to the Irish Unionists would be a stroke of political brilliance. Her Majesty is nothing if not a brilliant politician.

3. I strongly suspect that Her Majesty will never forgive Labour for "recommending" the appointment fo a Welshman to the position of Archbishop of Canterbury.

I don’t really understand the British system. If we have a tie vote in the Senate, the Vice President or President Pro Tempore of the Senate breaks the tie, or the speaker of the House in the House of Reps.

In America, you can have a Republican President and Democratic Congress, like during the Reagan years or a Democratic President and Republican Congress like during part of the Clinton administration. In Britain, under the Parliamentary system, if one party is the majority of the Parliament, then automatically the candidate from that party is PM. It might be easier that way, I don’t know. But no offense to Britain, I like our sometimes confusing way better. The branches of government are separate in this country, I don’t know how it works in the UK or other countries.

Face it. They will form a coalition with anyone just to get their fingers further into the pie of power politics and the public purse. Their MPs were no different from the other two parties MPs in the expenses scandal. They don't seem to be able to have any ideas of their own but have plenty from their paymasters the same as the other two. A vote for libdems is just like a vote for labour or tory. More thieving, lying and incompetence. I truthfully cannot see a difference in any of them. The lies and flip flopping all 3 parties have done in the run up to this election proves the character of the candidates and the parties.

Nick Clegg would not stay party leader for long if he tried to make a deal with the Conservatives.

The Lib-Dems, as a party, will only support Labour.

It’s real simple. A vote for Lib-Dems is a vote for Labour…

Tories believe in unreformed First past the Post – the Lib Dems couldn’t go with that.
