The current system is ridicules....as insurance companies cut back what they are willing to pay for, they raise their rates. People die waiting to see if they qualify for a procedure they thought they paid for. How can this work if the point is profit...it's ridicules. You want to take care of the people or you want to make money, choose one. It use to be in this country you could pay for things on your own. Now they want to force everybody to pay the blood sucking insurers...that's not freedom, that the rich fat cats getting richer. I don't like the idea of insurance...I like the idea of taking care of my self, but with our great current system, I would have to shell out two years salary for an operation. This is wrong....
References :
"Weak die, strong live and prosper. It's been going on since the beginning of time."

Does that mean you shall not do anything if you can? Sorry but I don't think health is something to play with.

I think there should be a balance, too.
References :
Individual Freedom. The government sucks, and if liberals can't support themselves, to bad. It's called survival of the fittest. Weak die, strong live and prosper. It's been going on since the beginning of time.
References :
Balance must exist between freedom and government regulation. In case of conflict, freedom of the people must prevail because it is the essence for which the government is supposed to protect.
References :
I don't think it's black and white like that.

I would prefer a two-tier system. Have the governmetn cover the poor, and ensure all are able to access health care. However, if you want to avoid wait lines and get better treatment, if you can afford it, you should have the right to private clinics. I think this would free up waiting times in Public facilities benefitting those in that system, and would also allow people to make a deicision on where and how they want treatmnet.

Many countries have a mixed system, I don't know why in Canada and the USA it has to be black or white, ya know?
