Banned Books Week 2009: Excerpts from the 9th Annual Banned Books Readings at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, Illinois. This year’s reading was held in conjunction with the 27th American Library Associations National Banned Books Week and was sponsored by the college at large, the Department of Arts and Humanities, and The Feminist Activist Coalition, an LLCC club. Professor John Paul Jaramillo taped and edited the production. Readers and books are: Deborah Brothers, welcome and introduction; Alice Pennell, Where the Wild Things Are; Imelda (Kay) Scott-Morris, To Kill a Mockingbird; Jill Campbell, Fahrenheit 451; David Reynolds, Invisible Man; Kat Barrow, The Vagina Monologues; Scott Ebbing, The Communist Manifesto; Will Sherrer, The Hobbit; Bekki Sponsler, A People’s History of the United States.
