Is Liberal Democrats joining (coalition) with Conservative or Labour Party?

Posted on April 16th, 2010 by admin

For this coming election.

Well, we won’t know until May 7 at the earliest!

I’d think they’d be more likely to support Labour than the Conservatives – the big demand will be proportional representation, which the Tories will almost certainly never agree to…

If there is a hung Parliament they will be happy to co-align with whichever party has the upper hand as they always have done in the past.

They have stated that they will not pre-announce who, if any, they will form a coalition with, and will, according to Nick Clegg, "judge the situation and the parties accordingly and decide who, if any, they will form a government with, if any, when the time is right".

The LibDems have more in common with the Conservatives, which a lot of people don’t seem to realise. Labour were originally a socialist party, and still carry the red-colour of socialism, have adopted many socialist policies (look at the state of freedom of speech in this country for one, Labour have all but removed that freedom from the UK people").

I think the Conservatives will win at any rate and the LibDems will not be needed. I’ve been a Labour supported for the past 10 years, but after seeing the lies they’ve been telling, and the state they’ve made the UK with their backward social welfare, immigration and wars everywhere. I’m hoping Cameron wins and gets a fair chance to bring the change the UK needs.

    No it is not.

However, if there is a Hung Parliament (And it is highly likely there will be one) then whichever party (labour or Conservative) wins will need to form a coalition government with another party in order to form a functioning government. Both Labour and Conservative are likely to choose the Liberal Democrats as their coalition partner if they have to form a coalition government.

This is because they hate each other and the Lib Dems are sort of midway between the parties, and almost definitely the Lib Dems will come third, so will be the obvious choice for coalition partner
