Aren’t all parties in the U.S. One either votes for the one you want or vote against the one you don’t want by voting for the other one that has a possibility of winning. One has 3 choices vote for the one you like, vote for the lesser of 2 evils, or throw away your vote.

In there I make the case for the two opposing privilege systems. But in addition to seeking privilege each party tries to appeal to those being attacked by the others privilege. Not quite as good as appealing directly to privilege since it doesn’t come with as much money, but can come with some votes.

In this respect the democrats are a coalition party because the Republicans covert privileges target widely dispersed groups. And then mostly democrats will give them a lip-service deffense. Take for instance military gays. Obama was going to be a "fierce opponent" of Don’t ask don’t tell. Soooo? Has he done squat? Have the dismissals and environment of fear ended? Not one bit.
