Is coalition government preferable to a government by a single political party?

PLease provide the reason for your answer.
Definitely. If government is by a single political party it can lead to tyranny by the majority. The single party will enforce their will and trample all others. Coalition governments lead to moderate solutions. Everyone knows they have to work together, and by and large they do. There can be some roadblocks and obstructionism, but no system is perfect, and moderation is preferable to demagoguery.

Dont see how it matters a Coalition is just a collection of party’s grouped together to make a government. its not necessarily any better or worse (in cases it may lead the government to be less extrema or in other cases make them more extrema). It dose not really matter if a single party rules or a group of party’s together. In theory it be more stable as one party as they wont have disagreements on policy based on party lines.

I think it would be much worse. If agreement had to be reached before anything could be done, nothing would ever get done. Look at how much gets passed when the majority of congress is held by a different party then the President belongs to.
