Political Crisis Ottawa Canada. Prime minister Stephen Harper. Coalition or Conservative Goverment?

Posted on February 10th, 2010 by admin

Vote online! The government’s economic statement and its aftermath have created a political crisis with a coalition of parties determined to defeat the government, creating a possible constitutional crisis involving the Governor-General and the beginning of a nasty national-unity crisis.

“To have created three crises or dangerous situations, if ‘crisis’ is too strong a word for the government and for the country in five working days represents a lack of judgment by a prime minister rarely, if ever, seen in Canadian history.

“Even if Stephen Harper escapes and slays the rickety coalition of Liberals, New Democrats and Bloc Québécois arrayed against him an entirely possible outcome he has so tarnished his reputation that it is hard to imagine him ever winning a majority government.

I think I have finally had enough of the Canadian Government , coincidentally , I think they have about seen and heard enough of each other as well , THAT’S THEIR PROBLEM ! It’s going to be like listening to 2 drug addicts fighting over who smoked more of the other guys pot soon. Can you imagine being a politician , saying that pot legalization is part of your platform? hahahahahahahahahahaha , it’s no wonder the government hasn’t worked very well in the past 30 years.

Bradsmere: If you understand how the Westminster system works, you’d have no problems with what is happening in Ottawa. The only “crisis” I see is millions of ignorant Canadians who apparently have NO IDEA how their own electoral system and Parliament really work!!!

Ignorance is the crisis…..not what is going on in Ottawa.

If the Conservatives don’t have a majority in parliament then they can’t govern. End of story. That’s how it works!!! I’m amazed anyone is having trouble with this.

    Give me a …
Give me a democratic vote and let the voters of the country decide who they want for a governing party and Prime Minister. Overthrows and backroom appointed Prime Ministers do not fit in a democratic country.

Harper proposed a coalition to force an election not to take power. The liberal’s have been dieing ever since they got rid of corporate party funding. Conservatives take their money from 135,000 Canadians, While the Liberals have 35,000 individual donations. Maybe the other party’s shouldn’t exist if their is no one willing to support them.

I’m for the coalition. Harper is a George W. Bush style fascist. He called the election because he saw the conomic crisis coming and wanted to avoid getting the blame a year from now. He then tried to cut off funding for the other parties in an attempt to put Canada under One Party Rule. Now he’s calling the coalition a coup when he tried to do the exact same thing to Paul Martin. Harper is a threat to Canada’s democracy and must be removed from office.
