Health Care Without Harm, supported by a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, is an international coalition of 25 hospitals and health care systems established to research and adopt environmentally sound practices to promote the health and safety of patients and workers. In 1994, two ads, paid for by the Coalition for Health Care Choices, opposed President Clinton’s health care plan. Two other ads, paid for by the Democratic Party, urged citizens to contact members of Congress to support the president’s plan. All the ads featured the characters “Harry” and “Louise.”
